Rarity Tiers

Bitmap rarity is multi-dimensional. A block can be rare for its low number, its historical significance, its visual appearance, or its numerical properties. Understanding all categories is essential.

⚡ TIER 1
Sub-1K Blocks
Blocks 0–999. The earliest Bitcoin blocks. Block 0 is Satoshi's genesis block. Sub-100, sub-10, and the genesis block are the rarest Bitmaps in existence.
💎 TIER 2
Sub-10K Blocks
Blocks 1,000–9,999. The "sub-10k club." Similar to ENS 4-digit domains, these carry immense prestige and are held by OG Bitcoin/Bitmap collectors.
🟧 TIER 3
Palindrome Blocks
Blocks that read the same forwards and backwards. Examples: 123321.bitmap, 1221.bitmap, 888888.bitmap. Mathematically unique and visually memorable.
📜 TIER 4
Historical Blocks
Blocks tied to pivotal moments: the Pizza Transaction block, Satoshi's known mining blocks, the Mt. Gox incident block, first halving block, first Lightning Network block, and more.
👾 TIER 5
Punk-Shaped Lands
Certain block data, when visualized, generates a layout that resembles a CryptoPunk. These are further subdivided by Punk type. Owners form exclusive clubs around these blocks.
🔢 TIER 6
Repeating Numbers
Highly memorable patterns like 11111.bitmap, 888.bitmap, 777777.bitmap. Similar to the prestige of ENS 999-Club or 10k-Club. Easy to remember = culturally valued.
🍕 TIER 7
Pizza Block
Block 57,043 — the block containing Laszlo Hanyecz's famous 10,000 BTC pizza purchase on May 22, 2010. One of the most historically significant blocks in all of Bitcoin.
🔷 TIER 8
Halving Blocks
Blocks 210,000 / 420,000 / 630,000 / 840,000 — the exact halving event blocks. Each represents a historic economic shift in Bitcoin's monetary policy.
🌌 TIER 9
Visual Uniqueness
Some blocks generate strikingly beautiful or unusual visualizations — dense city-like grids, sparse artistic layouts, perfectly balanced compositions. Aesthetic rarity discovered by the community.

Blocks whose transaction layout visually resembles a CryptoPunk. Further categorized by punk type (alien, ape, zombie, standard).

Blocks with palindromic numbers. The community values these for their mathematical elegance and visual symmetry.
